Privacy notice
This website processes as little personal data as is technically possible. Everything that does arise is set out in full on this page.
This English text is a translation provided for ease of understanding. The German version is the authoritative one; where the two differ, the German wording prevails. Zur deutschen Fassung
Controller
The controller for the processing of personal data on this website within the meaning of Art. 4(7) GDPR is:
Faina Schroeder
Lindenallee 5

fs@fajasporcelain.com
What this website does not do
This website sets no cookies. There is no audience measurement, there are no tracking pixels, no advertising networks and no content loaded from other servers — fonts, images and scripts all sit on the same server as the page itself. Nothing is stored in your browser’s local storage.
One single entry is placed in your browser’s session storage: when you open a work from one of the overviews, the site remembers the point you opened it from, so that the “back” link returns you there rather than to the top of the page. What is stored is solely an internal path such as “/work/#werk-flieder”. It contains no identifier and nothing that points to you; no personal reference arises. The entry never leaves your device and is deleted as soon as you close the browser tab. Without JavaScript it is not created at all — the “back” link then leads to the catalogue of works.
No consent is required for that entry: it is strictly necessary for the navigation you asked for within the site (§ 25(2) no. 2 TDDDG — the German act implementing the ePrivacy rules). The same applies to the data your browser necessarily sends when requesting a page, without which the page could not be delivered at all. That is why you will find no consent banner here.
That leaves exactly two operations in which personal data is processed: retrieving the page, and an email if you write. Both are described below.
Retrieving the website (server log files)
Every time this website is opened, your browser transmits technically necessary data to the server the site is stored on. The server records this in a log file. The following is recorded:
- the IP address of the requesting device
- the date and time of access
- the address requested (URL) and the name of the file retrieved
- the volume of data transferred
- the page visited previously (referrer), where your browser sends it
- information about the browser and operating system (user agent)
The logs are not evaluated in order to trace the behaviour of individual visitors, and they are not combined with any other body of data.
Hosting
This website does not run on equipment of its own but on the servers of a hosting provider:
STRATO GmbH
Otto-Ostrowski-Straße 7
10249 Berlin
Germany
The provider processes the data listed in the preceding section solely on behalf of and on the instructions of the controller, on the basis of a data processing agreement under Art. 28 GDPR.
The servers are located in Germany. According to the hosting provider, it operates two data centres, in Berlin and in Karlsruhe, and the data named above is processed exclusively there. No transfer to a third country outside the European Union takes place in the process.
Contact by email
This website shows the email address fs@fajasporcelain.com as a link (mailto). Clicking it opens the email programme on your own device. No data is collected or transmitted by the website in doing so; there is currently no contact form.
If you send an email, the data it contains is processed: your email address, your name where you give it, and whatever else you choose to tell us. This data is used solely to answer your enquiry and to conduct the ensuing correspondence.
A note on the route of transmission: an ordinary email is transmitted unencrypted and may be read by third parties on its way through the network. Email is therefore not a secure channel for confidential information.
Link to Instagram
This website links to an Instagram profile. It is an ordinary link, not embedded content: as long as you do not click it, no connection to Instagram is established and no data is transmitted there.
If you do click it, you leave this website. From that moment the privacy terms of Instagram, or Meta Platforms Ireland Limited, apply, over which there is no influence from here.
Your rights
As a data subject you have the following rights vis-à-vis the controller:
- access to the data processed about you (Art. 15 GDPR)
- rectification of inaccurate data (Art. 16 GDPR)
- erasure (Art. 17 GDPR)
- restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR)
- data portability (Art. 20 GDPR)
- objection to processing based on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (Art. 21 GDPR) — see the separate section below
An informal message to fs@fajasporcelain.com is enough to exercise any of them.
Independently of this, Art. 77 GDPR gives you the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, in particular in the Member State of your habitual residence, place of work, or the place of the alleged infringement. The competent authority at the controller’s seat is Die Landesbeauftragte für den Datenschutz und für das Recht auf Akteneinsicht Brandenburg, Stahnsdorfer Damm 77, 14532 Kleinmachnow, Germany.
Right to object
You have the right to object at any time, on grounds relating to your particular situation, to the processing of personal data concerning you that is carried out on the basis of legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f) in conjunction with Art. 21(1) GDPR). On this website this concerns the two operations described above: the server log files and the handling of your email.
If you object, your data will no longer be processed — unless compelling legitimate grounds for the processing can be demonstrated which override your interests, rights and freedoms, or the processing serves to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.
No particular form is required. An informal message to fs@fajasporcelain.com is enough. A brief note on what makes your situation a particular one is helpful, so that the balancing can be carried out properly.
